Ok. Sad, but true – with all the amazing history in Philadelphia, this remains one of my favorite sites. There is something that just tickles me about standing on top of Ben Franklin’s toilet (Privy Pit = Toilet). The best part is that I’m not the only one – someone in the park service thought so too and spent the money to commemorate it.

I have seen Ben’s turds. I just want to know why they sealed it up?

Sorry, I have no idea. I would assume the glass was scratched up and/or filled with condensation, so didn’t look great. That was before I moved to Philly. By the time I got here, they were covered with the stone tops. Great story!
