The first section of Philly’s newest trail just opened off of North Broad Street (a few blocks from City Hall and Chinatown). Gardens, artwork and these giant swings create a fun atmosphere. Eventually (and with enough funding), the trail will extend three miles through the heart of the city. For now, there’s not much to do other than relax and hang out on the first 1/4 mile section, accessible via steps on Callowhill between 11th & 12th and at Broad & Noble – but, if you are in the area, it is a fun rest stop and the large iron map showcasing Philly’s industrial past is very cool.
