Sid’s has been slinging plump and crispy butterflied fried shrimp from a takeout window on North Broad Street for 50-plus years.

The restaurant sits in an area well off the tourist track. You’ll order from staff located behind a bullet proof window, but the service is quick and the shrimp are tasty.

Those shrimp are just about all that’s on the menu. You can order seasonings on your shrimp (salt and pepper, Old Bay, hot sauce…), and they will come out in a basket with some potato chips. That’s it. No drinks. A couple sides. No tables. So, bring your own drinks and be prepared to crunch away in your car.
