There are so many unique dining experiences at Kampar!

Whether it’s family style dinner with Chef Reuben downstairs (which acts as an incubator for emerging chefs to perfect their culinary vision):

Or, roti canai with house-made drinks at the bar. Non-alcoholic available, such as my soda Gembira, a traditional Malaysian street drink of rose syrup, pandan, and condensed milk finished with shaved black lime:

Or, an amazing fresh NJ fish Ikan Bakar dinner, this Malaysian restaurant has it all. We got the flounder with sambal belacan, achat, coconut rice, and a yummy (and beautiful) dessert. Choose your fish from the the counter display, pick your sambal, then it gets cooked on banana leaves. Amazing! Another entry on our best foods of 2024 list.

Of course, you can always order traditional Malaysian food from the a la carte menu in the bright and airy upstairs dining room.

Make sure to leave room for a traditional Malaysian coffee drink, such as cham, an aerated coffee/tea/condensed milk drink made by pouring the mixture back and forth between two cups (as demonstrated by the owner in this photo from the 2024 Best of Philly awards).

Everything we’ve tried at Kampar has been delicious, plus the staff is super friendly.
