In the land of trendy/expensive desserts, this one is a cheap, tasty stand-by. They seem so basic and plain, so every time we have one I’m surprised by how delicious they are. Plus, at $1.25 each, they are super cheap. This Asian bakery in the heart of Chinatown also sells other treats, both savory and sweet (we also love their buttercream horns), European and Asian – and “toast” bread that is perfectly rectangular – every time we come in, I have to study the loaves and I still can’t figure out how they get them so perfectly shaped.
