The ultimate dessert! Combining a giant churro and ice cream and toppings (ours had dulce de leche and cookies) into one yummy dessert. Heaven! They also serve regular churros (plus the occasional special, like the Valentines churros above).
El Merkury is not just dessert… they specialize in Central American street food, and have some really yummy vegetarian options – like baked cheesy rice with jalapeños and corn, plantain chips, and street corn. Plus, yummy meat options AND frozen hot chocolate.
There are 2 locations-one on 21st near the museums, and one in Reading Terminal Market.

Yum! Of course that churro looks delicious, though I’d be a little worried about it melting the ice cream. I always eat ice cream as fast as I can because I hate when it melts. There’s a similar sort of place in London but I haven’t tried it yet because the churros themselves don’t look as good as the ones at my beloved Brazilian Churros.
