Ben Franklin Bridge PhiladelphiaWalking the Ben Franklin Bridge Philadelphia

I love walking and this is a perfect city walk with great views and no traffic.  We usually get plenty of walking in when we are in the city, but it is (obviously) city walking – cars, traffic lights, lots of people. It’s nice to find a place to get away from that and the Ben Franklin Bridge is a fun walk. Most people don’t realize that it has a pedestrian walkway above traffic level. Opened in 1926 (with Art Deco architectural details), a round trip walk is almost 3 miles – with views of the Camden and Philadelphia waterfronts and Philadelphia skyline. Plus, great views of the Wilbur chocolate factory ghost signs. Ghost signs, PhiladelphiaGhost signs, Philadelphia

Only one side is open at a time. Access through the 5th Street pedestrian tunnel.

Tobey says: Great place to take pictures and fun on a nice day.
